Teacher Highlight: Kimberly Harrell, Hammond School

Root Parades and Coding Carnivals

Root can be applied in a variety of contexts in the classroom, ranging from classroom management to hands-on application to a motivating (and sometimes secretly educational!) reward for students. Looking for some ideas about how to integrate Root into your current curriculum?
Today, we're highlighting Kimberly Harrell, a 5th grade math and computer science educator at the Hammond School in Columbia, SC. Lately, Kimberly's class has worked on their Root Parade and Root Carnival activities, in which they created costumes, different-style "marching" patterns, collaborative games and even a custom robot banner!
